Dates:  Arrive Sunday 7th January -depart 14th January 2017

Please note that evenings are free time and dinner is not included except for the Welcome Dinner on the first night.

The hotel runs a shuttle bus into Ubud Town Centre, so you can go anywhere you wish, or you can eat at the  ARMA restaurant.

Day 1 (Sunday 7th January 2018)

  • Arrive – please email your flight details to Shana so the hotel can pick you up from the airport.
  • Receive materials kit and welcome sarong.
  • There is no class on this day as people will arrive at different times.
  • Evening: Welcome dinner at the Arma resort where we are staying.

Day 2 (Monday 8th January 2018)

Breakfast at the Arma Resort (included.) Finish breakfast by 9:00am.

  9:00 am – 12:30  Introduction to linocut,  discussion about linocut images.  Drawing and planning your image. Choosing your subject matter from the gardens at the Arma Resort . Or work from your own drawings photographs or ideas.

12:30 – 1:30 Lunch included

1:30 – 2:30:  Demonstration of Carving Techniques.  Continue drawing and planning your image.

 

Day 3 (Tuesday 9th January 2018)

Breakfast at the Arma Resort (included.)

9:00am – 12:30  Plan your lino and start carving. Most people will make a small test plate first, or you can start on a larger piece.

Opportunity to print a test plate.

3:00 Go to the Arma Museum as a group, stay as long as you like.

 

Day 4 (Wednesday 10th January 2018)

Breakfast at the Arma Resort (included).

Free Day –  you can plan a tour, go shopping, have a massage, explore, visit a temple. The down hill bike ride is very popular, as is taking a cooking class with the Arma resort Chef. Batik class at the Arma Resort or jewelry class at Chez Monique in Ubud. (Please note that any courses you do on the free day are booked by you and will incur a cost with the workshop provider.)

Also note lunch is not included on this day as many will be out and about.

Day 5   (Thursday 11th January 2018)

Breakfast at the Arma Resort (included.) Finish breakfast by 9:00am.

9:00am -11:30  Continue work on your linocut ‘s

11:30 – 12:30 Teachers group discussion, Linocut and the classroom, here we will go through lesson ideas and people will have a chance to share ideas with the group and ask questions.  Non-teachers can continue to work on their linocut independently.

Lunch included at the Arma Resort 12:30 – 1:30

1:30 – 4:00 Help one on one with design and  composition .

 

Day 6   (Friday 12th January 2018)

Breakfast at the Arma Resort (included.) Finish breakfast by 9:00am.

9:00 -12:30    Chine collé demonstration. Continue working on your linocuts with specific help as required.

1:30 – 4:00 Continue from the morning, students will have an opportunity to make their own Chine collé whenever they are ready to print.

Day 7 (Saturday 13th January 2018)

Breakfast at the Arma Resort (included.) Finish breakfast by 9:00am.
9:00 -12:30  Continue with linocut carving and printing, help from Shana as required

Lunch included at the Arma Resort 12:30 – 1:30

1:30 – 4:00pm Continue Linocut from the morning

Day 8 (Sunday 14th January 2018)

Depending on your flight time breakfast may be included

Check out and transfer to Airport or next destination please note transfer to the airport is not included. Shana can help you organise a driver if you wish, or you can pay for the Arma resort’s driver.
